What are Fillers?
Fillers are a non invasive alternative to plastic surgery and helps restore your skins appearance. Fillers are injected to areas that have lost volume and needs that plump back. Some areas fillers is used for are cheeks for more volume and contouring, lips for a fuller and pouter look. Other areas can help correct uneven deep lines and smooth out dimples and bumps. Fillers contain hyaluronic acid- which is a naturally occurring sugar found in the body. The hyaluronic acid combines with the water molecules in your skin to provide a natural-looking plumping effect.
How long does Fillers last?
Results vary- depending on the treatment area and product used, results could last from 4 months to 1 year. It is important to maintain your fillers to keep the same appearance.
Does Filler hurt?
Fillers is injected into your skin with a small needle. For your comfort, lidocaine anesthetic is pre mixed in the syringe. Most patients say they experience a mild sensation and tolerate fillers well. Depending on the area treated, a topical anesthetic cream may also be applied before.
What can i expect after Fillers?
Typically after a filler procedure, you may notice some bruising, slight swelling, or tenderness of the area treated. Give yourself 5-7 days to heal in case of bruising. Keep in mind It takes a full 2 weeks for the product to completely settle into your skin. Not everyone bruises after injections but it is always a possibility. Plan your treatment ahead and not right before an important function. It is also important not to work out excessively after filler for 3 days.
How many syringes will I need?
This will be determined by your practitioner at your consultation. It’s normally one syringe per area treated.

How should I prepare myself before having Fillers?
Although we can never guarantee no bruising, here are some tips to minimizes swelling and bruising:
-Avoid alcohol 4 days before
-Avoid Advil 4 days before
-Discontinue vitamins such as Omega 3 and fish oils 4 days before
-Eat or drink pineapples.The enzyme bromelain found in pineapples helps reduce swelling and inflammation; as well as decrease bruising.
NOTE: Never stop or discontinue medication without speaking to your doctor before.
Who cannot have Fillers?
You must be the age of 18 years or older.
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should not be having this treatment.
If you have any neuromuscular disorders speak to your family doctor befoe having fillers.
If you are currently sick and taking antibiotics, you cannot have injections until you complete the course of your medication.
